Bladder function and kidney
A dog, a cat or a rabbit normally have two kidneys. One of the main tasks of the kidneys to eliminate unnecessary and undesirable blood substances. The kidneys have a direct link with the blood and removes about 25% of the blood pumped by the heart per minute.
When a cat was filtered daily approximately 20 liters of blood in this way so. filtered substances leave the body in urine, which is formed during the filtering process. A cat with kidney functioning produces about 0.1 liters of urine per day. The urine exits the body sequentially through the kidneys, ureters, bladder and urethra.
Effect of bladder and kidney
A kidney consists of about a million tiny filters called nephrons. A nephron is composed of a sort of double-walled section, where there is a glomerulus. These boats have small pores through which the unfiltered by the higher pressure prevailing here blood is pushed. Most of the blood through cutting the double wall again flowing in the circuit a small undesired portion circulates a retailer and urine substances.
From this urine collector flows ureters into the bladder. Dog bladder, cat, Guinea pig or rabbit can be compared with an expandable balloon. Here, the urine is collected in the kidney. The bubble grows more and more, collected, he became the urine. If the bladder is full, a signal to the brain that it is time to empty the bladder through the nervous system. Then the animal collect urine.
Undesirable substances are extracted
Excess “equipment” metabolism (substances that are not needed by the body, or which also received, such as vitamins or minerals)
Too much salt (sodium)
Too much water in the blood (blood is a lot of water. The amount of water in the blood is to remain constant, and the body makes excess water for safe disposal and lack removes less of water).
Drug residues such as penicillin.
